The Environmental Samples Management Extension helps you simplify the often complex and time-consuming tasks related to the gathering and managing of water quality and other environmental data. With it you can:

Knowing the state of your river, estuary or water body is essential when it comes to managing and ensuring the quality of that water. It requires regular sampling of both the water column and the bed beneath it. The data acquired is complex and requires specialist knowledge and tools to enable processing and interpretation.
The Environmental Samples Management Extension stores and manages the results of environmental sampling, so rather than the information being buried in a report it is easily accessible in a variety of forms. Standardising the recording of the information simplifies the exchange of data between regulators, survey companies and your other stakeholders. This is particularly the case when new developments are proposed or regular dredging takes place. The planning and monitoring of data collection programmes and the reporting of results to meet regulatory conditions is a legal requirement.
The data is stored within Ocean Database and can be viewed in the extension, both in tabular and graphical form, and can be linked to GIS to give a spatial view on the data. By mapping the results, you benefit from a completely new perspective and insight on your environment. When combined with the Dredging and Licensing Management Extension the samples can be linked to Dredged Areas and act as part of the regulatory reporting necessary for your Dredging Licence.
